Answers to the questions we hear most about managed IT services, cybersecurity, and working with Velo. Don't see what you're looking for? Email us at [email protected] — we respond within one business day.
Seven days. Pre-onboarding starts a week before your onboarding day — we gather information about your systems, coordinate with your prior provider, and handle the transition planning. On onboarding day, we flip the switch and come on-site with several members of Team Velo to meet your team and identify immediate improvements.
No extended downtime. Any brief downtime required for installing our management tools is coordinated after hours and at a time that works for your business.
We conduct baseline assessments immediately, identify quick wins, and schedule your first IT strategy meeting within 60–90 days. That's when we build your IT roadmap and the partnership starts gaining real traction.
We manage it. We have a comprehensive checklist for office moves and new locations — technology planning, coordination, and execution — so you can focus on the move itself.
99.98% of service requests are resolved remotely. For the rare cases that require on-site support, we have trusted contractor relationships in major markets across the U.S. and internationally.
The best candidates are technology-dependent businesses with 50–200 users who see IT as a strategic investment, not just a cost. If you're looking for the cheapest option, we're probably not your provider. If you want a partner who thinks like a fiduciary and measures success by your outcomes, let's talk.
Most IT providers are vendors. We operate as a fiduciary — we sit on your side of the table, not the vendor's. That means our recommendations are based on what's right for your business, not what generates the most margin for us.
Our engineers average 11 years of experience — even our youngest engineer has over 5 years. We back that with a continuous education program and monthly dedicated training time, because the best engineers don't stop learning.
And unlike most MSPs, we charge one flat monthly fee. No hourly billing, no overages. That model only works if your environment runs well — which means we're motivated to keep it that way.
Everything your business needs to stay running and secured: unlimited IT support, cybersecurity, infrastructure maintenance, cloud services, Microsoft 365 management, and strategic IT planning. New hardware purchases and large projects are scoped and priced separately.
New projects and hardware or software purchases are planned and priced outside the managed services agreement. Things like server upgrades, firewall installations, and office moves are quoted separately as needed.
Velo charges a flat monthly per-user fee — no hourly billing, no overages, no surprise invoices. Pricing depends on the size and complexity of your environment. Request a quote and we'll put together a number that makes sense for your business.
Hourly billing creates a conflict of interest. An MSP that charges by the hour profits from your problems. We don't. One flat fee means we're motivated to keep your environment stable and your team productive.
No onboarding fee for clients committing to a 3-year agreement. Shorter terms are available and subject to an onboarding fee equal to 1–2x the monthly managed services fee.
A compliance-ready security stack that includes managed detection and response (MDR), managed firewall services, and access to our Houston-based Security Operations Center (SOC). Our SOC uses a combination of AI and human intelligence to identify and stop threats before they become incidents.
Yes. Cybersecurity services minimize your risk — insurance ensures you can recover if something still gets through. Think of it like car maintenance versus car insurance. You need both.
For businesses with advanced compliance requirements, we offer enterprise Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Penetration Testing as add-ons outside the standard managed security program.

Most IT providers are vendors. We operate as a fiduciary — we sit on your side of the table, not the vendor's. That means our recommendations are based on what's right for your business, not what generates the most revenue for us. One flat fee eliminates the conflict of interest that hourly billing creates.

A Fractional CIO is an executive-level technology strategist without the full-time cost. If your business is making significant IT decisions — infrastructure investments, vendor contracts, technology roadmaps — without someone in the room who can translate those decisions into business outcomes, you probably need one. Velo's Fractional CIO service is included as part of our Strategy pillar.
